Summary of Position

The Department of Economics & Finance in the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance to begin August 2018. The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate and master’s level and support our growing graduate programs, particularly an online M.S. Finance with a CFA focus.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Finance (ABD considered) and hold the CFA designation or demonstrate significant progress towards the CFA designation. Specialization in investments or corporate finance is preferred, though all areas of finance specialization will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Our campus is known for applied and experiential learning, and our mission is to attract high-quality, diverse students. Thus, the successful candidate must be capable of excellent, dynamic teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Because this position will support our graduate program, we specifically seek faculty with graduate teaching expertise who demonstrate skill or interest in teaching online graduate courses. The candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda capable of high-quality peer-reviewed publications. Service at the department, college, and university level is expected.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Economics and Finance Department supports the Bachelor of Arts in Economics and the Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Economics and Finance. At the graduate level, the economics faculty supports courses in economic environmental studies and the Master of Business Administration.
