Essential functions of this position:

The primary duty of the Prospect Development Analyst position is to oversee the research area of the Prospect Development program within the University Advancement division. This position will work autonomously to streamline, organize, and prioritize projects in the research program. The Prospect Development Analyst will be in charge of the research side of Prospect Development and – coordinating, prioritizing requests, and providing the outcome directly to staff. The position has close working relationships with the Development staff in order to help them achieve their goals through research, reporting, analysis, and training.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:

Proficiency in methods of collection, extraction, cleaning, combination, transformation, inspection, modeling and analysis of data from internal and/or external sources to identify patterns and trends, draw conclusions, and support decision-making

Proficiency in the methods of information acquisition, including use of online resources, print directories, and other printed sources. Initiative in identifying new sources of information, as they become necessary and available

Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work collaboratively within and across department lines

Familiar with a variety of computer applications, including database, spreadsheet and word processing

Ability to analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources and present the resulting data in a clear and concise summary

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in prospect management and/or research, preferably within higher education, or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Experience with The Raiser’s Edge is preferred
