Brief Description of Work for this Position

This position will work in the research labs at the UNCW Center for Marine Science or on the main UNCW campus in Dobo or Friday Hall. This position will provide sample preparation and tissue processing, data collection and statistical analysis.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge of general lab equipment, including brightfield microscopes, dissecting microscopes, fume hoods, centrifuge, and prior experience working with aldehyde-based fixatives.

Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position
Preferred formal education or training, professional skills and work experience

An undergraduate degree in Biology or equivalent, including a course in Neuroscience, and previous research lab experience. A background in chondrichthyan biology preferred.
