Teach one or more sections of University College course, UNI 101: First-Year Seminar. Course description is below.
UNI 101: First-Year Seminar is a seminar course designed to support first-year students in optimizing their UNCW experience. With instructor as mentor, approaches to critical thinking are emphasized as students explore the goals of liberal arts learning, academic ethics and strategies. UNCW’s common reading, information literacy, self-management, and effective group collaboration are core components of this course.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required – Master’s Degree, previous college-level teaching experience, academic advising or student counseling

Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position


Preferred formal education or training, professional skills and work experience

Previous UNI 101, 201 or 120 teaching experience, experience working with first-year, transfer, and/or pre-health college students
