Summary of Position

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for an endowed, tenure track faculty position in the broad area of pharmaceutical chemistry at the assistant, associate or full professor level. The successful candidate is expected to maintain excellence in research with a vigorous, externally funded program, and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly in pharmaceutical chemistry. The candidate is also expected to have a significant influence on the development of our new graduate program with focus in pharmaceutical chemistry. Minimum Requirements

A PhD and post-doctoral and/or significant industrial experience, is required.

Chemistry & Biochemistry at UNCW offers exciting, student oriented programs that award Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS,ACS Certified) and Master of Science (MS) degrees. A significant portion of the training takes place in our laboratories, both those associated with courses, and those involving research in Marine and Atmospheric Science, Biochemistry, Organic and Inorganic Synthesis, Computational and Physical Chemistry, Chemical Education, and most recently, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, all of which incorporate our state of the art instrumentation (http://www.uncw.edu/chem/ ). In addition to rigorous courses in all aspects of chemistry, most of our undergraduate students and all of our local graduate students carry out research under the direct supervision of our outstanding faculty.
